God the Father

Three times a year CTCI hosts our marriage and parenting conference, Train to Reign. Lead by CTCI director Larry Pons and his wife, Susan, they teach on the biblical foundations of marriage, parenting, and family. Father’s Day has fallen in the very middle of the summer session of this conference for many years and has opened the doors for many messages from incredible guest speakers.

This Sunday, Bill Eubank, former president on the board of directors for CTCI, spoke with us on what it looks like when we recognize God as our father. He shares with us about the Holy Spirit revealing the Father and the Son to us and the transformation that takes place in our hearts and lives when we strive to emulate our heavenly Fathers love here on earth.

“All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” Luke 10:22

Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Discerning Spirits

This Sunday Sonny Ramsay continues our series on the gifts of the Holy Spirit through leading us in the importance of knowing the Word of God so that we will know how to identify His spirit. Sonny Ramsay is one of the leaders in the Sunday Fellowship Men’s Group that meets weekly to discuss where we feel the Lord is leading us a fellowship as well as working with our children’s ministry.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:11-12

“Scripture points out that the war we fight is not just in our flesh, there’s a battle in the spiritual realm. This is a battle that the Holy Spirit reveals to us.” – Sonny Ramsay

Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Mercy

Tim Dailey has been a part of the ministry here at CTCI since it was founded in the 1970’s. This Sunday he continues our series on the gifts of the Holy Spirit by discussing the gift of mercy.

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” Romans 12:6-8

“Mercy is not only required, it is also reciprocal and demands action. The mercy of God is demonstrated in this world by His people.” – Tim Dailey

Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Prophesy

Worship leader, Scott Crowley, continues our series on the gifts of the Holy Spirit by discussing the gift of prophesy.

“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” 1 Corinthians 14:1

“Isn’t it different in your mind to think of expecting something from God? Eagerly desiring to hear from God? Eagerly desiring to see Him do something – if not in your life, in someone else’s?”

Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Tongues

CTCI Director, Larry Pons, begins our series on the gifts of the Holy Spirit by discussing the gift of speaking in tongues.

“My spirit, by the Holy Spirit within me, prays. When we pray in tongues our spirit is in direct contact with God. We are talking to Him by divine, supernatural means.”

1 Corinthians: Losing Sight Of Who’s In Charge

“As soon as we start comparing and competing, then that’s the first sign that we lose sight of Who’s in charge.”
Continuing in the series on 1 Corinthians, guest speaker, Fauger Baptista, reminds us of the importance of saying focused on the Lord and working towards His plans instead of comparing ourselves to those around us and using the Lord’s foundation for our own plans.
